When I began doing The Work, I found that when I tried to focus on moments of distress during my 1st marriage, I had trouble holding the emotion and the reason for that emotion. When working solely within my mind there were too many other parts of the story that distracted me – shifting and changing what I was trying to clarify. Writing it down held it steady and made it real enough to stand on its own and allowed my mind to still. I was able to question was I was thinking and believing in that moment so many years ago and find clarity. And with clarity came peace, closely followed by freedom, and then empowerment.
We’re clarifying what you’re believing in a certain situation that causes your suffering. In doing this we put you in the drivers seat of your experience. You gain a higher level perspective of your experience of life. For instance, let's say I’m upset that my kid failed math. There are a million reasons why that F might be on his report card. Through this process you will gain a level of clarity to what is going on within you. You’ll be able to move forward in a way that holds understanding and aligns with your highest truth.
